TriCity Circus is looking to engage one or two instructors to teach aerial silks and hoop classes to kids, youth, and adults a couple evenings a week and possibly weekends.

The TriCity Centre for Circus Arts is a rapidly growing circus school that offers classes and programs in both aerial and ground arts to students of all levels of ability, from age 7 to adult. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where both staff and students have the opportunity to grow. It is important to us that every student receives a foundation in strong technique, and grows to explore their own style and creative abilities.

The studio is located just off the 401 in Cambridge, at 560 Thompson Dr., Unit 1.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience teaching circus arts to students of all ages.

  • Must be comfortable teaching students at a beginner and intermediate level on silks and hoop, and display competence in managing a class of 6 kids, age 7 and up.

  • Teacher certifications in circus arts or gymnastics are preferred, but experience is also valued.

  • First Aid and CPR certified (or willing to become certified by September).

  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.

  • Minimum 18 years of age or older.

The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with the ability to create their own lesson plans in consultation with the Program Director. TriCity Circus has a comprehensive library and curriculum of skills and techniques for the instructors to pull from. 

Instructors are covered under our company insurance policy, and will be engaged as an independent contractor. Compensation is in alignment with industry standards. Instructors are given access to the space and equipment for their own training at off times (weekdays during the day, and before and after classes on most weekends).

Classes will begin the week of September 6th. The Fall Session runs from September 6th to December 15th.
